Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur e.g., Kahlua
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 24 ladyfinger biscuits savoiardi
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  • n a bowl, combine your brewed coffee and coffee liqueur. Set it aside to cool.
  • In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks and granulated sugar until it's all creamy and pale.
  • Add softened mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and whisk until it's all luscious and smooth.
  • In yet another bowl (I promise, it's worth it!), whip heavy cream and vanilla extract until it forms soft peaks.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until it's all harmonious and dreamy.
  • Now comes the fun part! Dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture, making sure it's nicely soaked but not falling apart.
  • Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
  • Spread half of your mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, creating a creamy layer.
  • Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the rest of the mascarpone mixture.
  • Dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder for a touch of elegance.
  • Refrigerate your Tiramisu for a few hours (or overnight) to let the flavours meld and develop.
