- 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur e.g., Kahlua
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 ladyfinger biscuits savoiardi
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
n a bowl, combine your brewed coffee and coffee liqueur. Set it aside to cool.
In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks and granulated sugar until it's all creamy and pale.
Add softened mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and whisk until it's all luscious and smooth.
In yet another bowl (I promise, it's worth it!), whip heavy cream and vanilla extract until it forms soft peaks.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until it's all harmonious and dreamy.
Now comes the fun part! Dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture, making sure it's nicely soaked but not falling apart.
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
Spread half of your mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, creating a creamy layer.
Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the rest of the mascarpone mixture.
Dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder for a touch of elegance.
Refrigerate your Tiramisu for a few hours (or overnight) to let the flavours meld and develop.
