Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless chicken cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder adjust to taste
  • 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked basmati rice for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix yogurt, half of your minced garlic, half of your minced ginger, half of your spice blend, and a bit of salt and pepper.
  • Add chicken pieces to the marinade and let them soak up the flavours for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a large pan, heat some oil and sauté chopped onion until it's golden and fragrant.
  • Add the remaining garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for a minute.
  • Stir in the rest of your spice blend, along with turmeric, paprika, and chili powder.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and let it all simmer into a gorgeous sauce.
  • Add marinated chicken pieces to the pan and let them cook through.
  • Stir in heavy cream to create that luscious creamy finish.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve your Chicken Tikka Masala over a bed of cooked basmati rice, garnished with chopped cilantro.
