Located at the heart of Makati Central Business District is a roof deck bar that offers an escape for anyone who wants to unwind and recharge after a long day of hard work. Started in April 7, 2016, The Penthouse 8747 is a new haven for self-confessed rooftop bar enthusiasts.

The Penthouse 8747 guests are welcomed with fully decked-out interiors inspired by The Great Gatsby era. This rooftop lounge overlooks the Ayala Triangle with a view of the city skyline. Everyone will downright be in awe with this view while enjoying a night of food and drinks.

The overall look of the lounge sets the mood of the guests’ hungry bellies as they browse through The Penthouse’s full-course menu. A selection of mouthwatering appetizers, filling main means, and desserts are available. And of course, a wide range of beverages may be readily purchased for the perfect food pair or for simply capping off the day.

For appetizers, one of the newest dishes to watch out for is the Asian Nachos… a unique concept of fried wonton strips stacked on top of each other with beef, mangoes, and salsa spread in between each wrap. A refreshing start to prepare the appetite for more good food to come.

The Penthouse 8747 also serves a variety of pastas for sharing (or not) over dinner. Be sure to try the Shrimp Linguini Pesto Pasta for a creamy fix of pesto with shrimp, malunggay, and basil.

One of the perfect matches to complement the creamy pasta would have to be the Seafood Caponata Pizza for that unique Italian taste because rarely does one find pizza that is dipped in buffalo sauce.

While all the drinks from The Penthouse’s bar menu are exceptional, three were highlighted over the summer : the Jealous Lover, the Great Escape, and the Watermelon Margarita.

The Jealous Lover, a staple in the bar menu since February, is a hit for wine lovers as it offers a different kind of wine-drinking experience. The drink is a mixture of champagne and wine but the wine-infused jelly at the bottom of the glass makes the drink more interesting.

The Great Escape, on the other hand is a refreshing mixture of gin, rosemary, grapefruit, and sparkling champagne. Now a staple in the bar menu ever since guests started requesting for a refreshing drink to cool down a hot and even the not so hot nights.

Last for the summer’s highlight is the Watermelon Margarita, another refreshing mix to cleanse the palette and to give everyone another reason to just chill the night away.

Aside from these summer hits, The Penthouse also designed a more funky way of serving their tequila, or the rainbow tequila shots as they’d like to call it. Obviously, they do know how to brew up excitement from a classic favorite.

These are just a few of the drinks available on the bar list but guests are very much encouraged to request for their own custom drinks.

Overall, service is excellent as The Penthouse’s attentive crew can accommodate everyone’s requests complemented by great food, drinks, and a breathtaking view. According to resident Chef Michael Genaro, it is always a must for The Penthouse to provide a relaxing time to its guests as he himself understands the stress that comes with working hard… and hard work always deserves to be rewarded with good food and good times.
